Job Title: Logistics Materials Supervisor
Location: Invergordon, Scotland
Key Requirement: 2-5 years of experience in the same role
We're hiring a Logistics Materials Supervisor to play a key role in supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) projects. In this role, you will work closely with the operations team and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. You will be responsible for managing project equipment, materials, and consumables, tracking progress, facilitating communication, and assisting with problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics & Materials
- Following the procedures and processes for Goods In & Out
- Manage the movement of equipment / materials
- Liaising with Operations for Equipment / Material Requirements
- Equipment Inspection & Control
Suppliers
- Update, maintain and evaluate our ‘Approved Supplier Control System & Register’
- Discovering profitable suppliers and initiating business and organisation partnerships
- Negotiating with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
Procurement
- Order and track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance.
- Ensure timely availability of materials and equipment needed for project execution.
- Coordinate shipments, transportation, and site deliveries.
- Build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
Equipment, Material and Infrastructure
- Control, update and maintain equipment, material, and consumable trackers
- Control and update infrastructure sheets.
- Arrange Infrastructure Inspections as and when required.
- Communicate with related authorities, customers and suppliers, as necessary.
- Carry out company and job specific inductions as and when required.
- Prepare and submit relevant documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Communication & Support:
- Act as a central point of contact for project teams, ensuring clear and effective communication between departments.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Respond to inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders, providing project updates and addressing concerns.
- Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities, and development
Risk Management and Problem Solving:
- Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Track and manage project change requests, ensuring they are documented and approved appropriately.
- Assist in troubleshooting project issues and coordinating resolution efforts with relevant teams.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure project activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Assist in conducting quality checks and audits to verify compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Support environmental and safety initiatives within the project scope.
Qualifications / Requirements / Experience:
Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in the same role, preferably within the EPCI, energy, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in complex project environments.
- Proven supervisory skills
- Familiarity with energy infrastructure projects, oil and gas, any offshore wind, or renewable energy is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in day-to-day software (e.g., all Microsoft office applications, Microsoft Planning or similar tools).
- Understanding of project life-cycle stages.
- Experience with document control systems, ERP software, and procurement platforms.
- Experience in purchase order support and logistics
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
