2024 Year in Review: A Year of Growth, Achievements, and Milestones in Oil & Gas and Renewables

As we approach the end of 2024, we would like to express our gratitude to our staff, clients, and suppliers for their ongoing support. This year has been another remarkable chapter for Aventus Energy, and your contributions have been instrumental in driving our growth and success.

We began the year by continuing our work on two major offshore wind farm projects, Moray West and Neart na Gaoithe, with our teams successfully taking these projects from onshore marshalling to offshore completions and close-out. This has marked a significant step for Aventus Energy within the offshore wind market and has led to several contract awards in both fixed and floating wind farms.

Within the Oil & Gas market, we’ve continued to support our clients and have seen substantial growth in the sector, most notably through two large contract awards for our Las Palmas and UK businesses. Our Las Palmas team successfully executed upgrades and modifications to a drilling mast, enabling their mobile drilling asset to mobilise to the Bosphorus Sea. Meanwhile, our UK business completed a critical non-destructive testing and thickness gauging scope as part of a major mid-life upgrade contract for a FPSO vessel.

In May, we relocated our headquarters from Alness to Invergordon at the Port of Cromarty Firth. This move allowed us to transition into larger office spaces and workshops, better positioning us to meet the growing demands of our clients. To further support our growth, we took another exciting step in October by opening a new office in Aberdeen, where we are focused on growing our team and exploring options for a larger office space with workshop capabilities to enhance our operations.

Throughout 2024, we’ve achieved significant growth, expanding our team across our three business areas from just 6 to an impressive 15 staff members. Among these new additions, we’ve welcomed senior and expert professionals whose skills and experience will be key to driving the ongoing success of Aventus Energy. Looking ahead, we remain committed to further strengthening our office support in line with our strategic plans, and we will continue several projects into 2025, including a substantial drilling asset upgrade which is set to begin in January.

Ross Thomson, Managing Director of Aventus Energy, commented: “As the year comes to an end, I would like to say a huge thank you to the exceptional office team and everyone involved in our projects. Year after year, they don’t just meet expectations — they go above and beyond, and Stuart and I are incredibly grateful. The efforts of the team are the heart of Aventus Energy, and they are an essential part of this ongoing journey.”

Stuart Paterson, Director, added: “Throughout 2024, we’ve faced challenges, celebrated achievements, and innovated in delivering high-quality Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance solutions internationally — none of which would have been possible without our incredible, hard-working team, the loyalty and trust of our clients, and the support of our suppliers. From all of us at Aventus Energy, I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here’s to a bright and prosperous 2025!”
